PET Projects is a branch of the Beulah Burman Memorial Animal Shelter Society. We are a volunteer-run, NO-KILL, NO-CAGE, VIRTUAL animal rescue and advocacy group!
As a “No-Kill” organization, we are committed to finding homes for pets in our care, no matter how long it takes. We believe in the true definition of euthanasia, which is meant to be an act of mercy for hopelessly sick, injured and suffering animals when there is NO OTHER HUMANE CHOICE. As long as there is hope, we are here to help, one animal at a time.
As a “No-Cage” organization, we offer help and resources to allow owners and private rescuers to provide care for animals waiting to be adopted. We also have a network of foster homes where pets in emergency situations receive love, veterinary care, socialization and rehabilitation as a part of a loving family, rather than being forced to await adoption behind the bars of a cage. This system benefits the pets, the adopters, and the people who become a part of the solution!
As a “Virtual” organization whose central location is on the web, we are able to serve Shelburne County and beyond, and to provide meaningful, fulfilling, hands-on avenues of volunteer service to animal-lovers for whom regular travel to a shelter building would be impossible, but who want to make a difference for pets in need.
